Types Of Dust Mops

Looped End - Looped end dust mops
are just as the name suggests. The strands that protrude from the
dust mop are looped back and sewn. This gives the dust mop more
surface area to pick up dust and debris.

Cut End - On the cut end dust mop
strands protrude from the dust mop and then are cut. These dust
mops have less surface area to pick up dust and debris but can pick up
finer particles of dust because the end fibers in each strand are
shoeing at the cut.

Clip Style - The style of a dust
mop refers to how the dust mop attaches to the frame. A clip style
dust mop uses snaps or clips to secure it to the dust mop frame.

Tie Style - The tie style dust mop
attaches its self to the dust mop with two ties on each side. The
ties are usually tied into a bow to secure to mop to the frame.

Micro Fiber Dust Mops - Microfiber
dust mops are great from residential use and areas that need constant
and quick cleanup. These mops are recommended for dust and smaller
debris.

Types Of Finish Mops

Floor Finish Mop - Finish mops
come in a range of sizes and ply's. The main function of a finish
mop is to absorb the floor finish and release it onto the flooring.
A good finish mop will have a gradual release of the finish so that it
coats the floor evenly. Most common sizes of finish mops are
small, medium and large. Ply's can range from a 2 ply mop to an 8
ply mop. The more ply's that the mops has the more finish it can
absorb. Most finish mops are rayon or a rayon nylon blend.
Cotton is not a good choice because it can release lease into the finish
and when the finish dries it becomes hard to remove.

Block And Pad Applicator - The
block and applicator pad uses two wooded or plastic blocks secured
together to hold an applicator pad. Blocks range in size from 6"
to 36". Applicator pads come in synthetic lambs wool or genuine
lambs wool. The floor finish is applied in the same manner as
sweeping a room with a push broom.

Nylon Applicator Systems - New on
the market is the nylon
floor finish applicator system. This system Delivers
200-300 sq. ft. of coverage with a single mop load of finish. This
system is great for large jobs such as cafeterias, long hallways and
gymnasiums.
